VP eCommerce Development

Active Ingredient.Net

June 1999 – February 2001

Currently providing development and consulting services to a number of different industries. Completed an application (www.baysidetest.com) utilizing Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. Designed and developed an eCommerce application using Dreamweaver, Cartweaver, MySQL, and Coldfusion for a fine stationery dealer. Designed and developed an electronic invitation application for EDS which was hosted on a Domino R5 server. This application was designed to allow the client to send an electronic invitation (which was developed in Flash 5 and incorporated into a Web page in a Lotus Notes database) to any number of users, informing them of a technical conference hosted by the client. Users could then R.S.V.P. by selecting the various breakout sessions being conducted at the conference, or to decline the invitation. General conference information was also made available such as a map to the event, and general information about each breakout session and vendor who participated in the event. Event information, user names and email addressed and breakout session information was imported in the Lotus Notes database from MS Access. This and other current projects can be reviewed at http://www.dancinghorseproductions.com/. Other clients include Andersen Consulting, 2MB Enterprises, Frank Fernandez, esquire (www.1lawsite.com) , Simon Kresch, esquire, Horsedhast Productions, AllAboutDressage, and Sescoi USA.

Lead a team of database engineers and creative designers responsible for the development and support of all client applications, including www.ourbeginning.com. Responsible for the initial development of www.ourbeginning.com, launching a fully functional eCommerce enabled application in 6 weeks. Credit card processing is handled using a Lotuscript agent that securely sends credit card data to Cybercash for processing and payment. Technologies employed include Lotus Domino R5 running on Sun hardware, under Solaris 2.5, with SSL enabled. Javascript and Lotuscript were extensively used to give the application an acceptable Web experience. Tools such as NetObjects Fusion (4.0 and 5.0) and Dreamweaver (3 and 4) were also used to aid in the design and layout of Web pages. General responsibilities include the day to day operations of the organization, developing new business proposals, project management, and P&L management. Specific accomplishments include the support of the 1999 OurBeginning.com Super Bowl campaign which consisted of installing and configuring the servers, Solaris, and Domino to support an estimated 5 million users during the half-time show. The Web site was able to handle the traffic without interruption.

Also developed an electronic greeting card application similar to eGreeting.com (www.ourgreeting.com). This application consists of a Lotus Notes database (R5) which uses a combination of Lotuscript and Javascript to achieve Web functionality. Users are able to select the greeting card to send, specify the user(s) to send to, select music to accompany the greeting, specify a delivery date, and provides users the ability to upload their own artwork for the greeting if they want to send a unique message. All of the greeting card artwork is stored in the database which is categorized by the type of greeting or particular holiday or event (such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, Hanukka, etc.) that it represents.

Sr.Lotus Notes/Domino Consultant

Technology Investments, Inc.

November 1995 – May 1999

Walt Disney Imagineering:

Provided consulting services to Walt Disney Imagineering where I was responsible for developing an online SOP application for Disney Vacation Club utilizing Lotus Notes/Domino R4 running on an NT platform. This application eliminated a large amount of paperwork by providing documents online. Integrated the Domino Fax Server into the application so that Vacation Club associates could fax vacation club members information from their desktops.

Disney Institute:

Developed a telephony application for Disney Institute allowing guests to call a toll free number and request program information which was faxed to the guest. This application uses Domino Fax Server, Phone Notes (running on an OS/2 server), and is populated with data using Notrix Composer to get program information from a Sybase database which runs on a Unix server. Installed and configured Notrix Composer and mapped database fields in the Sybase database to fields on a form in the Lotus Notes database. A Lotuscript agent was developed to run once a day to update the Lotus Notes database with information from the Sybase database, which was updated to contain the most recent Disney Institute program information.

Walt Disney World:

Developed a Web based lost and found application that replaced disparate systems across the Florida Disney properties. This application is fully web enabled with full security, which runs on the company intranet on a single Lotus Notes/Domino R4 server. Items in the Lost and Found application were matched using Lotuscipt agents to items lost by park guests based on the guest description of the items. Javascript was used to perform form based field validation to make data entry of lost items more effective from a Web browser. All HTML was coded by hand directly on forms and in views within the application for Web presentation. Recovery of guest items increased by 75% and reduced the number of lost items in each lost and found office on property. Responsible for coordinating in the Y2K testing of all Lotus Notes/Domino applications in production.
